Italien Cuff Title.
Worn by enlisted men of the 29th Waffen Grenadier Division of the SS (1st Italian). The divison was created after the surrender of Italy in 1943, from men loyal to the Italian Social Republic under Benito Mussolini.
It became known as the Legionari and fought a brutal campaign against Italian partisans. The Legionari also opposed allied bridgeheads at Anzio and Nettuno and later fought French forces in Piedmont. The division surrendered to American forces in late April 1945.
