Hungarian - Hungaria (H)

After the German overthrow of the Hungarian government in 1944 thousands of Hungarians volunteered in the Waffen SS. As with most foreign volunteers in the SS they wore national flag patches on their sleeves. There were 3 Hungarian SS divisions raised in late 1944 but all were disbanded or destroyed by January 1945 by the advancing Red Army.
The patch is features the H embroidered on the Hungarian flag and shield.
