The Wound Badge in Gold was awarded (1st class, which could be awarded posthumously) for five or more times wounded, total blindness, "loss of manhood", or severe brain damage via hostile action.
These solid brass badges have a smart gilt finish, and have the correct original style pin and maker’s code mark on the back.
