A reproduction WW1 Imperial German Friedrich-August Cross 1st Class.
The Friedrich-August Cross was introduced on the 24th September 1914 by Frederick Augustus II, Grand Duke of Oldenburg. It was intended for "all persons of military or civilian status, who have shown outstanding service during the war itself".
The medal features a black iron cross. Between the arms of the cross is a laurel wreath. The front of the cross has the initials FA. The top of the cross has the crown of Oldenburg and the bottom has the date 1914.
