Florian Geyer Officers/NCO cuff title.
As worn by members of the 8.SS-Kavallerie-Division, During the war the division had gone through several transitional periods, originally it begain life in 1939 as 1.SS-Totenkopf-Reiterstandarte, they transitioned a further 3 times before finally being denoted as 8.SS-Kavallerie-Division "Florian Geyer" on March 12TH 1944 where they were awarded their divisional Cuff Title.
Florian Geyer were mostly used as an anti-partisan unit towards their later years and took part in many of Hitlers' "Scorched Earth" policies throughout Soviet Russian and while retreating. They had also commited several large scale atrocities against civilian populations whilst on their retreat.
The 30,000 strong unit was destroyed in the fighting for Budapest in December 1944.
This cuff title is made from aluminium silver bullion thread on a black woven wool base with aluminium silver wire border.
