In late 1938, the German army set up the Propagandatruppen as a specialised branch. These propaganda companies were packed with war correspondents, photographers, and broadcasters. While they originally wore other unit insignia, they were officially assigned this light grey (Hellgrau) Waffenfarbe to show their role.
These enlisted men's shoulder straps are made with a field-grey (Feldgrau) wool face. They're edged with light grey wool piping to represent the propaganda troops, following the original wartime regulations. Made in the standard M40 pattern, they've got the typical rounded ends and measure 4.5 cm wide.
These boards use the standard slip-on style. You just slide the wool tongues straight through the shoulder loops on your tunic and button them down at the collar. They come as a matching pair, ready to fit your M36, M40, or M42 field blouse for an accurate Propagandakompanie impression.
