The German King Tiger (Tiger II) was the heaviest operational tank of the Second World War, weighing an incredible 68 tons, and was seen as the ultimate development in tanks during WW2.
The cost of producing these enormous tanks was almost 9 times that of a US Sherman tank - while this would undoubtedly mean that the King Tiger was a force to be reckoned with, it also meant that due to the cost and time it took to create just one tank, only 489 would be produced.
While the King Tiger was superior to any of the Allies' tanks, unfortunately, it was deployed for the first time just after D-Day so never got the chance to make the impact it deserved!
These excellent kits are 1:35 scale models of the formidable King Tigers and come with sprues and decals to complete the look.
