The 9th Flotilla comprised of a total of 84 U-Boats, which formed one of the most famous combat fleets of the German Kriegsmarine. Based inBrest(France), the Flotilla was formed in 1941, and was in operation from 1942 until late 1944. They adopted the 'Laughing Swordfish' as their emblem, depicted by this enamelled pin badge.
The enamelled metal badge features this 'Laughing Swordfish' design in green, has a pin on the reverse for fixing and measures 3.8cm x 2.2cm.
