1939 Star of the Grand Cross of the Iron Cross
The Imperial Star of the Grand Cross of the Iron Cross was worn on the left breast, using the vertical pin on the reverse.
Earlier versions of the star were only ever awarded to two people: Field Marshalls Gebhard von Blucher in 1813 and Paul von Hindenburg a century later in 1918. This 1939 version was created for Adolf Hitler in the event of victory in WW2, though ultimately never awarded, making this one of the rarest medals in history.
The Star features the 1939 Iron Cross at the centre, riveted onto the gold metal star, making this a very impressive replica.
