US Tariff Update - Chinese Made Products
As of May 2nd 2025, there may be additional charges when importing Chinese made items into the USA regardless of value or shipping method.
This will potentially impact 25% of our product range, mostly affecting metal badges and some uniforms.
Unfortunately the details have not been very clear but we'll do our best to summarise our current understanding.
What is the tariff?
Although we ship from the UK, US tariffs are based on the country of origin of the product, not the shipping location. This means that if you order a product that is made in China, you may be liable for additional import charges.
These charges may be:
- 125% Tariff on the value of the goods when sent via a courier (UPS).
- $100 flat-rate Postal Charge (Per shipment) when sent via a Postal Service (USPS/Royal Mail)
Tariffs are likely to change at any time, without notice.
Due to the fast-changing nature of these tariffs, we are unable to accurately predict any customs fees at this time.
How does this affect you?
Simply, if you buy a chinese made item after 2nd May, you may have to pay import charges regardless of order value or shipping method.
What are we doing to help?
We are looking to do the following:
- Add "Made in China" badges to our product description for all Chinese made products.
- We will contact customers before we dispatch any orders to the USA that contains Chinese made products.
- We will let you know the potential costs of the tariffs before dispatch, and where possible suggest alternative products
- We'll continue to work with other manufacturers to ensure we can source products from other countries.
