El Alamein Woodburning Artwork

A wonderfully detailed, hand-made piece of woodburning artwork, featuring an El Alamein inspired design.

These impressive pieces of woodburning artwork are hand-made by Ray Nicholls, an ex-armed forces serviceman who lives nearby to Epic HQ. What started as a hobby has become a past-time which produces some outstanding results. Some are based on famous photographs or scenes, whereas others are designed by Ray himself with inspiration taken from history. Ray uses woodburning techniques to create an impressive display, with the occasional bit of pen or pencil work to add that final bit of definition. Each piece is signed on the back, alongside a hook for hanging on display.

This particular design centres on the battle of El Alamein, a decisive point in the African campaign. The artwork features tanks at the centre of an intense battle, with plooms of smoke and a fighter plane overhead. This piece has been finished to a very high standard with care and accuracy at the centre of the process. The artwork itself measures 30cm x 30cm.
