WW2 Falaise Road Sign
Reproduction "Falaise" road sign.
These road signs are high quality replicas of the original WW2 vintage signs. Made of high grade 18 gauge steel and measuring approximately 83 x 25 cm, these are impressive pieces of WW2 memorabilia.
These particular signs are from the French town of Falaise, scene of a crucial battle of the Normandy campaign in August 1944. Around the town of Falaise, Allied forces succeeded in creating a salient around the German Army Group B, virtually surrounding it. Over the course of several days heavy fighting, the Allies closed the gap between the towns of Falaise and Argentan, trapping tens of thousands of Wehrmacht troops. The outcome of the battle enabled the Allied forces to finally make a significant breakout of Normandy and paved the way to the liberation of much of Northern France.
These signs are a symbol of history and would make a great gift for any WW2 history enthusiast. These items make excellent display pieces.
Please note: These signs have sharp edges and should be handled with caution.
