Original WW2 'Coconut' Canteens.
These are original water canteens which date from World War 2. Traditionally the military had used materials such as wool to insulate canteens, however during WW2 such material were under increasing demand. As a result some militaries started to use materials such as bamboo to cover and insulate their water canteens. This was initially championed by the German army and proved so popular that many other counties followed suit. We believe that these canteens are from the Bulgarian Army.
The water canteens are made from metal and have a metal screw top lid which chain. The feature a large metal clip on the side to securely attach the canteen to webbing belts etc.
Please note that due to their original condition there maybe some variation in design and some signs of wear.
