WW2 German SS and SA Bullion Pilot Eagle
WW2 German SS and SA Pilot Eagle made from a silver bullion wire on a black backing.
The SS and SA Pilot Eagle was instituted in November 1931 and existed until September 1933. During this period, both the SS and the SA were under a unified command and thus had joint flying sections. These badges were awarded to SS and SA personnel upon successful completion of their theoretical and practical pilot training. After September 1933, all SS flying sections were absorbed into the Deutsches Luftsports Verband (DLV). These impressive replicas are made from a black wool backing, with the eagle and wings design made from a silver bullion wire.
