WW2 German SS 12-25 Year Long Service Medal Box
A smart presentation box for SS Long Service Medals or "SS-Dienstauszeichnungen", specifically the 12 and 25 year versions. Complete with silver "doppelte Siegrune" on the lid.
These medals were awarded to Officers, NCO's and the Enlisted Men of the SS after 4, 8, 12 or 25 Years of service. When calculatoing length of service in the SS for these awards, time between 1925 and 1933 counted double, explaining how 25 year awards were distributed. These would have been manufactured by Leistungsgemeinschaft der deutschen Ordenhersteller (LDO), the organisation responsible for the order distribution, the raw material allocation as well as the quality of medals and the companies that manufactured them in Nazi Germany.
Complete with silver runes on the lid, smart black textured exterior, tidy closure button and deep red velvet interior.
The box measures approximately 10.2 x 4.8 x 2.7 cm.
