Original Belgian M56 Jigsaw Camo Vintage Trousers

Original Belgian M56 Jigsaw Trousers, dated 1958 - 1962

These genuine surplus Belgian "Jigsaw" M56 trousers have seen some use! Dated from 1958 to 1962, these vintage trousers have picked up plenty of character in their time, with repairs, stains and some washing out of the camo pattern, so please be aware that these will come in varying levels of used condition. That said, these are some incredible pieces of history. 

When the Belgian Military initially started to use the now iconic jigsaw M/56 pattern, it was issued exclusively to elite units. These baggy cut overtrousers are some of the first issued pieces in the pattern, which in its updated format is now the general-issued camouflage for the Belgian Army. The elite and paratrooper influences are clearly shown through the single cargo pocket on the left leg, drawcord closure and pinchable cuffs.

Please note due to their age these show some variation in design, some have "wrap and tie" cuffs, and others have an internal cord. Others may be missing buttons, have repaired patches or have the internal reinforcement section removed. The reinforced lining tends to become stiff with age but does still flex once worn back in. Most, but not all have a dated manufacturer tag. Similarly colour varies widely, with some small stains.

These are striking trousers at an excellent price, showing wear but looking good for their age. A great addition to a historically minded wardrobe, a fashion piece or a reenactment.
