US Paratrooper M1 Rifle Case, also known as a 'Griswold Bag'.
Excellent reproduction of the padded case used by US Paratroopers, during combat jumps.
These cases are padded and were designed to protect both the M1 rifle and the soldier during the jump. For use the rifle should be split into two parts, the cover then being attached to the parachute harness by use of the snap hook seen on the rear.
