British WW1 B5 Leather Boots with Rubber Sole by William Lennon

We are extremely excited to be able to bring you these beautiful, British WW1 B5 Leather Boots with a modern twist. Created by William Lennon & Co near Sheffield, England, the boots have been made on the original site that William Lennon & Co have occupied since 1904. In fact, William Lennon & Co were one of the original contractors of the B5 boot during WW1 and they use their own original WW1 era patterns and "an actual surviving pair of original boots" as a template.

Each Wonderful pair features

  • The correct 2181 square toe last.
  • An upper made from heavy gauge, oiled ‘rough out’ kip type leather.
  • A leather insole
  • A double leather outsole
  • A modern, Indiana Forepart rubber sole
  • A military ring-tipped heel. And
  • The sole is nailed with the military-type flat ‘gripper’ studs.

These truly are a stunning boot. Grab a pair today and have that connection with a true piece of history with a casual look.

Care: As the boot has a full leather construction, it will serve you for a long time provided it's regularly cared for!
The manufacturer recommends that the first wear is done in dry conditions and as they slowly start to form, you can start to apply grease from "time to time". With further use and with proper treatment, the leather will soften, darken, and become more smooth. You can rough up the leather with a brass nubuck brush if you wish to do so.
We do not recommend shoe polish for this boot, use colorless grease instead. The gap between the upper and the sole must be paid special attention.

Like with any leather footwear, if the boots get wet, never dry them near a heat source - otherwise, the leather might get brittle and crack! Always dry them at room temperature and with good ventilation. When the boots are dry, remember to apply more grease/oil to maintain the supple leather.
