These badges were awarded to Machine Gunners who showed excellence in combat. The badge depicts the hammer and sickle on red, under the text 'отличный пулеметчик', translating to 'Excellent Machine Gunner'.It also features a heavy machine gun below for distinction.
The badge comes with a screw back for fixing, with the screw plate featuring the text 'ш.м.3. н.к.п.с.' (ScMZ NKPS), in reference to the factory of its production.
The badge measures approximately 4.5cm x 3.5cm, with the screw pin on the reverse measuring approximately 1.2cm.
