Southwest Asia Service Medal
US SouthWest Asia Service Medal.
This medal was awarded between 1991 and 1995 for operations in the Gulf War, namely operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm.
The medal features the major components of the US-led coalition forces on its face. A tank and an armoured personnel carrier sit in the desert near a camel, while a helicopter flies above the rising sun. An inscription bearing the words ‘Southwest Asia Service’ separates this scene from a warship sailing through the sea, while two jets flew above. The colours of the ribbon are tan, representing sand, with the black, white, red, blue, and green symbolizing the colours of coalition countries' national flags.
We believe these medals to be unissued originals.
