Royal Russian Historical Playing Cards

Product Code: SKU1820A

Out of stock

36 card deck of Russian playing cards, depicting Russian Monarchy such as Emperor Nicholas II and Ivan The Terrible.
Description

These high quality, Russian playing cards are an ideal pastime gift for friends and family alike.

Unlike the standard 52 card decks popularised by France, Russian playing cards often came with just a 36 card deck, with 6 being the lowest number. A popular game in the post Soviet states, using all 36 cards, was called Durak, meaning Fool. The idea of the game was to get rid of your cards and at the end of the game, the person left holding their cards was the Durak.
