Original Russian Pilotka Hat

In the Soviet Union, the garrison cap is known as Pilotka (meaning pilot). The original cap was a part of the air force pilots' uniform in WW1. It was the most common type of cap used by the Red Army during WWII and after, until the 1980s. The pilotka was worn during the summer months but was usually replaced by a Ushanka during the winter period. It continues to be worn in modern Russia, although mostly in the Air Force and the Navy and especially among submarine personnel, where its compactness is highly practical.

These caps are in very good condition, and come date stamped as manufactured between the early 70's and the late 80's. They do not come with a cap badge, but these are available separately below.

Good quality original Pilotka hat. Perfect for WW2 Russian re-enactors and collectors.
