Original East German Strichtarn Camo Jacket
Original East German Tan and Water rain camo pattern jacket
The camo pattern on this jacket is the second type, Strichmuster (dash pattern) and was introduced in 1968. This version differed from the original design in having thicker brown rain straits on a greyish-green background. In production until the collapse of the DDR in 1990, numerous types of uniform, shelter half, helmet cover, field cap, field equipment and even a special airborne trooper fighting vest were produced in this pattern. This camouflage was also worn in Africa by insurgent groups, particularly in Angola and South West Africa.
These well preserved East German Field Jackets in a rain camo pattern, come with 4 frontal pockets (2 x hip and 2 x button closable breast pockets) and 2 x button closable upper arm pockets, along with button adjustable cuffs. Internally, there is a drawstring belt which enables the wearer to tighten the jacket around the waist if needed for a more comfortable fit. These original jackets are ideal for general, day to day wear and will not suffer under heavy usage.
