High quality reproduction cuff title as worn by German Luftwaffe officers during WW2.
Kampfgeschwader 27 "Boelcke" was a medium bomber wing of the Luftwaffe. Named for the legendary First World War flying ace Oswald Boelcke. KG.27 flew during the invasions of Poland and France, the Battle of Britain and later during the invasion of the Soviet Union. In 1944 it was converted to fighter aircraft but was later grounded due to lack of fuel.
Geschwader Boelcke embroidered in silver aluminium bullion thread on a blue backing with edging.
The cuff title measures approximately 3.5 x 47.5 cm.
