The Verwundetenabzeichen, in black, was awarded for receiving one to two wounds from hostile action, it was also awarded for frostbite. The black colour represents Iron.
The badge is worn below all other awards on the left of the chest.
This badge has a smart black finish and a pin back for fitting.
The badge measures approximately 4 x 3.5 cm.
