79th Armoured Division Sign
Reproduction enamelled metal wall sign of the British Army 79th Armoured Division.
The 79th was the home of the famous Hobart's Funnies. The division operated armoured vehicles modified for specialist roles, intended to assist with the landings on the Normandy beaches. The division remained in action during the North-west European Campaign, providing specialised support during assaults of British and American units.
Several concepts pioneered by the 79th are in widespread use amongst militaries worldwide, such as the armoured bulldozer and bridge laying tank.
These quality signs measure 6 inches along each side of the triangle, and have holes in the top 2 corners for mounting.
