WW2 German Luftwaffe Radio Operator and Air Gunner Badge made from a silver bullion wire on a Luftwaffe blue backing.
The badge was awarded to those who completed 2 months of qualifying training and serving on 5 flights. This badge was later split with the creation of a specific Air Gunner badge. These impressive replicas are made from a blue Luftwaffe wool backing, with the award design made from a silver bullion wire. The embroidered version was commonly worn in place of the metal awards for combat uniforms.
