WW2 German Luftwaffe Pilot Observer Badge made from a silver and gold bullion wire on a Luftwaffe blue backing.
Introduced in 1935, the decoration was awarded to those who completed the necessary practical and theoretical training as both a Pilot and an Observer in the Luftwaffe. They feature the silver Luftwaffe Eagle at the centre of a golden laurel and oakleaf wreath. These impressive replicas are made from a blue Luftwaffe wool backing, with the award design made from a silver and gold bullion wire. The embroidered version was commonly worn in place of the metal awards for combat uniforms.
